this is just a quick note to say thank you to all of our customers, and staff and their families your hard work during the most difficult of years.
Some of you were put on furlough and enjoyed the sunny weather. Some renovated houses and some had children. But thanks goes to those who worked through it enabling Apex to continue trading. Remaining stable in the most challenging of times. We have all had to adapt to many new rules in order to keep each other safe while at work and at home. Your cooperation with this has been fantastic and has resulted in everyone remaining fit and healthy to this day. The pandemic has also had a huge effect on our business, to date we have lost a total of 13,378 man hours through furlough, self-isolation and shielding. We have more than doubled our spending on PPE and probably bought enough hand sanitizer to fill several bath tubs! All this has all been worth while as it has enabled us to get to this day and look forward to spending some quality time with our nearest and dearest over Christmas.
A well deserved break is just around the corner, we hope the bacon rolls were enjoyed and the vouchers go a little way in providing something nice to eat or drink during the holiday period.
When we return on the 4th of Jan 2021 we do so without one of us, Paul Shoesmith is hanging up those spanners and phoneline, I know we all wish Paul the very best and hope he goes on to enjoy a long and well deserved retirement, his final act was to present Dave Shaw with the inaugural ‘Paul Shoesmith Award for Care and Attention, and Stevie G with the Scaffolders Scaffolder of the Year Award!
The New year brings with it a very healthy order book. With many new projects that offer new challenges projects that will expand our knowledge and professional capabilities.
A new vaccine is out there too and given time will hopefully reduce the restrictions to our normal life we have endured for so long now. We might even get to celebrate together with a drink or two come the spring ?
On behalf of Matt, Mike and myself we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😊
Please enjoy your break, stay safe, look after yourself (and others!) and we’ll see you on January the 4th.
2021 can only be better !!
